Writing Web Content – Web Content Publishing

Web content publishing is the practice of generating and publishing material on the Internet. Many people do this and do not even realize it. Blogging is a form of web content publishing as is writing for websites such as eHow, Bukisa or Associated Content. Also, stock photo blogging, posting videos to You Tube or even stock photography are generating content on websites, so those too can be considered web content publishing. There are some very important things to consider if you are going to generate web content. The following guidelines give some basic understanding of writing web content, but they can be broadened to include other types of content as well.

The title is probably the most important thing. You title must say what it is that the article is about. Contrary to contemporary journalism techniques, for general web content, you must stick with basic titles as that is primarily what is going to get people to your content. For writing web content, the title must be relatively brief and represent something that someone would actually be searching for in a search engine. It’s not to say that there are not other sources of traffic, but any content will be much better off receiving traffic from search engines than any other source.

Key wording can be a difficult concept to grasp, but basically you need to find out what keywords drive traffic. Plug that keyword in your title as well as several times in the content. Moving the keyword into the text will let the search engines know that the text actually has something to do with the title, which gives the article more reputability.

A side note for photos; if you are posting photos, it is best to name the file to be the same as the page title which contains the photo (or similar) because that is what the image search engine will be looking at primarily. You also should create an excerpt about the photo so there is text content on the page, following the key wording guidelines. This will make it so that the page will come up, not only for image search, but also for regular searches as well. Even if you are not writing web content, you still need text on the page, because search engines are not able to decipher multi-media…yet.

These are general guidelines. I have put the complete method on how to write articles that pay into an eBook, which you may be interested in. There is a guarantee on the book that you will make your money back or I will reimburse you for the loss. Please see the sales page for more details.
